How many days are covered per trip?

  • Updated

It depends on whether you have a Single Trip or Annual multi-trip policy, your age, and where you’re going. Single Trip policies can usually cover trips up to 12 months, while Annual multi-trip policies limit the length of each trip and the total days you can be away each year.

How long you can travel for:

  • Single Trip: You can travel for up to 12 months on a Single Trip policy, if your journey starts and ends in your home country.
  • Annual multi-trip:
    • USA, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean:
      • Ages 0–70: up to 45 days per trip
      • Ages 71+: up to 35 days per trip
    • Anywhere else in the world: up to 45 days per trip.
  • Annual multi-trip – total time away:
Across all your trips in a policy year, you can be covered for up to 183 days in total.
  • Trip extension (Gold, Gold Plus & Platinum only)
If you have Gold, Gold Plus or Platinum and are 70 or under, you may be able to pay an extra premium to extend each trip limit to 50 or 55 days for any destination. If you are 71+, you may extend trips to 50 or 55 days except when travelling to the USA, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean.

Check your schedule:
The exact limits that apply to you are shown on your policy schedule, so always check this before you travel.
