What is a 'non-travelling relative'?

  • Updated

A non-travelling relative is an immediate relative who is not travelling with you. Some of our policies provide cover if they have a medical condition. If their health worsens significantly, you might need to cancel or cut short your journey.

If the relative's doctor can confirm that, at the time you booked your trip or purchased your policy, there was no substantial likelihood of the patient's condition worsening to the extent that you would need to cancel or cut short your journey. If the doctor will not confirm this, your claim is not covered.

In the event of a claim, the doctor must complete the medical certificate on the claim form.
