Will you cover me if I live in the Isle of Man or Channel Islands?

  • Updated

Yes.

The policy definition of the United Kingdom includes the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, so you can buy a policy if you meet the policy’s UK resident requirements.

What you should know

  • United Kingdom definition: Includes England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
  • Home country: If your home is in the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, that’s treated as your “home country” in the policy.
  • Trips within the UK: Medical cover can apply when travelling between the Channel Islands/Isle of Man and other parts of the UK (and vice versa), but it does not apply to every type of UK-only trip.
  • Reciprocal health agreements: You should use any reciprocal health arrangements available. If medical costs are reduced using one, the excess under medical cover may be waived.
  • Insurance Premium Tax (IPT): IPT is not included in any premiums for New Policies and adjustments to existing Policies for policies owned by Channel Island residents.
