Terrorist attacks

  • Updated

Terrorism-related incidents are generally excluded across AllClear policies, but limited cover may still apply in specific sections depending on your level of cover.

When you may be covered

If you suffer an injury or illness that needs medical treatment as a direct result of a terrorism-related incident, cover may apply under:

  • Emergency medical expenses and repatriation, including related costs where covered
  • Personal accident
  • Medical inconvenience benefit, where included on your cover
    • Available on Gold, Gold Plus and Platinum
    • Not available on Silver

What “needs medical treatment as a direct result” means

This means the terrorism-related incident directly causes the injury or illness that requires medical treatment, and this is supported by medical evidence.

Examples may include

  • You are physically injured during the incident, such as fractures or cuts
  • You need treatment due to exposure linked to the incident, such as smoke inhalation
  • You experience acute shock or distress that requires emergency medical treatment

What is not covered

  • Terrorism-related incidents are excluded under all other sections of the policy
  • This can include costs linked to cancelling your trip, changing travel plans, or other non-medical losses
