Do you cover me to ride a motorbike?

Yes. 

Motorcycling can be covered as long as you meet the conditions below and you are not racing or riding off-road and you meet the conditions stated in your policy wording; however personal accident and personal liability cover do not apply while you are riding.

What you must do

  • Hold the equivalent and appropriate valid UK licence for the type of motorcycle you are riding.
  • Wear a crash helmet whenever you are driving or riding.

What is not covered

  • Racing, speed or endurance tests
  • Off-road riding

Activity holidays and engine size by Policy type

Silver

  • Motorcycling is allowed up to and including 125cc.
  • Activity holidays are not covered, meaning motorcycling cannot be the main purpose of the trip.
  • Motorcycling may still be covered if it is casual or incidental.

Gold, Gold Plus and Platinum

  • Motorcycling is allowed.
  • Activity holidays are covered, meaning motorcycling can be the main purpose of the trip, as long as you meet the conditions above.

Important: cover limitations while you are motorcycling

  • Personal accident cover does not apply while you are motorcycling.
  • Personal liability cover does not apply while you are motorcycling, where personal liability is part of your cover.
