Is travelling for cosmetic surgery covered by Travel Insurance?

  • Updated

No.

Travel arranged to have cosmetic, pre-arranged or elective (non-emergency) surgery isn’t covered and will invalidate your policy. Claims also arising from planned treatment including routine or follow-up care is also not covered and your policy may be void.

What to know:

  • Travel specifically for treatment abroad (including cosmetic/non-emergency procedures) is excluded under General Exclusions in your policy document.
  • Any claims linked to planned treatment are not payable.
  • Trips for routine or follow-up appointments abroad are not covered
