What you should know
- Travel documents
- Passport/ID: Check it’s valid for at least 6 months after your travel dates.
- Visa: If your destination needs one.
- Tickets/boarding passes: Printed or digital copies.
- Travel insurance documents: Your cover details and emergency contacts.
- Accommodation details
- Confirmation: Address, contact details, and check-in/check-out times.
- Directions: Especially if you’re arriving late or somewhere unfamiliar.
- Transport plans
- Travel tickets: Flight/train/bus confirmations and schedules.
- Car hire (if needed): Reservation details.
- Health, safety and emergencies
- Emergency contacts: Including local emergency numbers.
- Health info: Health insurance card details, prescriptions, and any vaccination records you may need.
- Back-ups: Copies of important documents kept separately.
- Money, plans and staying connected
- Money: Local currency, cards, and a small amount of back-up cash.
- Itinerary: Bookings for tours, activities, or meals, plus maps/guidebooks if helpful.
- Phone and power: An unlocked phone or local SIM plan, plus chargers, adapters and a power bank.
