How long can I travel for?

  • Updated

How long you can travel for depends on whether you have a Single Trip or an Annual Multi-Trip policy, your destination, and (for some trips) your age.

Single Trip policy

Our Single Trip policy covers one trip only.

Maximum trip length:

  • Up to 365 days (12 months) in total.

Country-specific limits:

  • UK only: up to 31 days

  • Spain (including Balearic Islands), Canary Islands, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta, USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean: up to 60 days

Important to know:

  • Your Single Trip policy ends when you return to the UK.

  • You’re not covered for any part of a trip that lasts longer than the number of days shown on your policy schedule.

Annual Multi-Trip (AMT) policy

Our Annual Multi-Trip (AMT) policy lets you take multiple trips within one policy year.

Maximum length per trip:

  • 45 days per trip (standard).

Total travel per policy year:

  • A maximum of 183 days in total, across all trips in the year.

Age-related limits (USA, Canada, Mexico & Caribbean):

  • Aged 70 or under: up to 45 days per trip

  • Aged 71 or over: up to 35 days per trip

Extending your trip length:

  • You can pay extra to extend individual trips to 50 or 55 days.

  • This option is not available if you’re aged 71 or over and travelling to the USA, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean.
