Your annual multi-trip policy has two key limits:
- a maximum length for each trip, and
- a maximum number of travel days in total across your policy year.
Policies bought on or after 6 August 2025:
Total travel days (all travellers, all destinations)
- Up to 183 days in total across the policy year.
Maximum trip length (per trip)
- Up to 45 days per trip for travel to most destinations.
- Up to 35 days per trip if anyone on the policy is aged 71+ and travelling to the USA, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean.
Maximum length of each trip
Your trip length can’t be longer than the trip limit shown on your policy schedule.
If you’re travelling to the USA, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean
- If anyone on the policy is aged 71+: 35 days per trip
- Otherwise: 45 days per trip
If you’re travelling anywhere else
- 45 days per trip (any age)
Total travel days across the year
Across all the trips you take during your policy year, you can be covered for up to 183 travel days in total.
Trip-length extensions (optional extra)
If you want longer than 45 days for a single trip, you may be able to add an optional trip-length extension (for an extra premium) to increase your per-trip limit to 50 or 55 days.
- If anyone on the policy is aged 71+, this option isn’t available for trips to the USA, Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean.
- Adding a trip-length extension doesn’t increase the 183-day total travel limit.
If it depends
- If your policy was bought before 6 August 2025: your limits may be different. Check your policy schedule and documents.
- If your planned trip is longer than your trip limit: you won’t be covered for any part of that trip.
