Repatriation (getting you back to your home country for further care) sits within Emergency medical expenses across AllClear policies and may help if you’re seriously ill or injured abroad and need to return home early. It isn’t private health insurance, and it only applies when it’s medically necessary, as decided by our Zurich Emergency Assistance team.
What you should know
- Where repatriation sits in the policy
- Silver: Section 1 — Medical emergency expenses, repatriation and associated expenses
- Gold / Gold Plus / Platinum: Section 6 — Medical emergency expenses, repatriation and associated expenses
- It must be medically necessary
Repatriation/medical transport is only considered if the medical advisers decide it’s medically necessary. They also decide the most appropriate way to get you home. You need to involve our Zurich Emergency Assistance team
If you have a medical emergency, you can contact the 24-hour emergency assistance helpline:+44 (0) 203 467 4122 (from the UK: 0203 467 4122).
If you’re admitted to hospital, or outpatient treatment is likely to cost more than £350, you must contact them as soon as possible, as not doing so could reduce what you can claim.
If you think you may need to come home early, you must contact our Emergency Assistance team straight away.
- It’s not private health insurance
Medical treatment abroad can be expensive, so emergency medical and repatriation benefits can be important if something serious happens on your trip.
