Why do I need Repatriation cover?

  • Updated

Repatriation cover can help if you become ill or injured on your trip and it’s medically necessary for you to return home early. With AllClear, it sits within the Medical emergency expenses section of your policy, and the amount payable (limits and excesses) depends on your policy tier and schedule

What repatriation cover is for:
  • “Repatriation” brings you home and includes related transport/associated costs (where the policy terms are met). In the event of death, it can include conveyance of the body or ashes (or local funeral costs abroad).
  • Silver is focused on emergency medical treatment and repatriation (getting you home).
  • If you’re hospitalised or think you may need to come home early (be repatriated), you must notify our emergency assistance team immediately. Keep receipts for any costs, as claims may be rejected without them.
  • Repatriation/transport must be medically necessary and authorised by the Emergency Assistance team. If you refuse to return home after they deem it safe, the insurer can stop cover.
