My family are insured elsewhere can I cover them on my Policy?

  • Updated

The Travelling Companion upgrade can cover your travelling companion’s costs to cancel or cut their trip short if your pre-existing medical condition (accepted by AllClear in writing) causes the cancellation,  as long as your companion is insured with another travel insurance provider and you’ve paid the extra premium (shown on your policy schedule).

What you need to know

  • Who it’s for: Travelling companions who are insured under another travel insurance provider.
  • What it covers: The cost of cancelling or cutting short of your trip(s)
  • What must be in place: Your condition must be agreed in writing, and the additional premium must be paid and shown on your policy schedule.
  • It doesn’t make them an insured person on your policy: An “insured person” is someone named on the policy schedule.

By policy level

  • Silver: This upgrade isn’t relevant on Silver because Silver doesn’t cover cancelling your trip.
  • Gold / Gold Plus / Platinum: The Travelling Companion upgrade can apply (if added and shown on your policy schedule).
