You’d need Waiting List cover if you’re on a waiting list for medical treatment/investigation (or you have a scheduled procedure) and a change to the treatment date could mean you have to cancel your trip or Cutting your trip Short costs.
Eligibility
- When it matters: It’s relevant if a waiting list or procedure date change could affect your travel plans (cancel or cut your trip short).
- Single Trip only: Waiting List cover only applies to Single Trip policies, and only where cancellation cover is included.
- Annual Multi-trip: It doesn’t apply to Annual Multi-trip policies.
Must be added: You need to have paid the additional premium, and it should be shown in your documents/policy schedule.
How it works by policy level
- Silver: Silver doesn’t cover cancelling your trip, and Waiting List cover isn’t available
- Gold / Gold Plus / Platinum: If a waiting list or procedure date change causes you to cancel or cut your trip short, those costs aren’t covered unless Waiting List cover has been added (and shown on your documents).
